Hi all.
I picked up this '85 or '86 MIJ Squier Bullet S2 (on the right):
It's super fun to play, but the stock ceramics are a little bit harsh and clanky. Looking for a slightly hotter and warmer bridge PU to make it sing, especially in a band context. The amps I'm using are a Soldano Avenger and a 70's Park.
The general ballpark of the sound I'm looking for is like Ron Asheton's Strat sound on Funhouse:
I've been looking at the following PUs:
Fender Tex Mex
Fender Texas Special
Duncan SSL-3
Duncan SSL-5
Duncan SSL-6
Duncan 5/2 Custom Bridge
Antiquity Texas Hot Custom
Antiquity Surfer Custom
Dimarzio FS-1
Fralin Blues Special
Fralin High Output
I've used and enjoyed the Dimarzio FS-1 as well as the Fender Tex-Mex, but there are a lot of pickups out there. Is there anything I'm overlooking?
Also, I apparently can't figure out how to embed a video. KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!
