I think you will like the Franky... it is a good pickup. I remember hearing it was put into franky to compensate the low end lose from the floyd. It DOES sound close to my High Order Pickups assymetrical 8.75K AlNiCo 2 pickup which is a supposed 78 clone.
All that said, the franky didn't last in my Explorer. Every now and then I go through a VH phase and I go and put a VH like pickup in my main ax.
The thing I like about it is that lowend grind and thump, it's not tight, but it's not lose... it's unique. I don't like the high end single coil like attack. Some love it, but I find it annoying for riffing and such, can be cool on single not runs.
I have the Franky in my Jackson Dinky reverse... it works great there. It seems that it really likes floyd guitars and that high end spike works with brighter super strats rather against it, much like a Demon does.
I have that 78 clone in the neck of the Jackson fwiw... sucks there. But I don't use it.
