Help me decide!

Hello all!

I'm having trouble deciding what color/kind of knobs should go on this guitar:

The guitar originally came with black strat knobs, but I was thinking that chrome tele knobs or even Gibson style knobs would look good.

What do you guys think?

Re: Help me decide!

Chrome or black Tele knobs would do it for me.

Re: Help me decide!

I like black dome knobs or, 2nd choice, chrome ones. Sort of like Tele knobs but without the flat top.

If I'm not mistaken that's a 1994/1995 Washburn Mercury MG701. SCORE!!!!!!

While these came stock with black Strat knobs, depending on the year, the Chicago-made ones had either black or matte chrome dome knobs:

If I were you (and didn't like the Strat knobs) I'd go with matte chrome dome knobs like the blue MG-100 above to match the Wilky VS100 for a more "authentic" look (i.e. closer to her US-made sisters)!

And congrats on an amazing guitar, enjoy her in good health brother!

Re: Help me decide!

While I think black knobs could work to match the pickups–I think the best option is chrome. I would put a Charvel style chrome knob on it personally.

Cool guitar and looks like its loaded to sound awesome!

Re: Help me decide!

How about a set of these? I have them on a couple of my guitars.;)

Yeah, man! I wasn't sure on the year, but it moat definitely is a MG701. It sounds pretty good acoustically. I still need to wire in the pickups to hear it plugged in.

Thanks, man! I'm probably going to get sime chrome knobs for it. As far as the sounds, I'm still working on the wiring, but I'm excited about it. It's got a Dimebucker and a pair of Carvin AP11's.I'm going yo set it to have a split bridge pickup and a neck pickup on switch, in order to get sounds that use the neck and bridge pickup or all three pickups together.

Ascension is the resident Mercurologist here but if I am not mistaken this must be a MiK 1995 Washburn MG-701 Deluxe Plus (check the s/n on the back, I believe the first two digits should be the year).
Alder body, Flamed Sycamore top, Maple neck, Rosewood board, locking tuners (the kind that locks using a dime) a recessed Wilkinson VS100 made to be floating (that and the 24 frets are what signify this as a Deluxe Plus).
From the factory it used to have a set of Washburn "Eliminator" 611S,612S and 623H pus with a coil split for the bridge but obviously that part is gone.

A SERIOUSLY cool guitar. I am feeling VERY confident that once you have it wired up you're gonna love it!
(BTW, I KNEW I recognized those Carvin SCs, only other thing you can put in her with that route being a stack or mini-bucker).

If you look online hard enough you will find knurled dome knobs with coloured tops (abalone or pearloid) that will be a good match to the guitars finish.
