All, I've had this guitar for some time and I finally got it custom painted. I wanted to know your opinions on what else to do next? (color of the hardware, what kind of neck, pickups ect) I don't think I will be using this pick guard so any suggestions are doable. Thank you

Cool build–if that's the pickugard you are using then it looks like you are limited to one humbucker. I'd recommend black hardware with a SD Dimebucker (very versatile pickup that can cover anything from Country to Metal.) A roasted maple neck with black dots would look cool. Not sure your budget, but Warmoth offers some cool options for inlays and wood combos that might be a good fit.

Best of luck on your build!

Interesting design you have there, kinda dig it.

As for hardware with that black, goes with the cutouts and pickguard. I see a cutout for a humbucker in the bridge, but no other cutouts unless you plan on mounting them under the pickguard. What is the end goal for sound? Based on the design, Im thinking hard rock, metal genre, I love the Distortion in something like that or the Black Winter.

I have a BW neck paired w a Distortion, love it. If a bit more modern metal/hard rock is wanted, go w the BW bridge.

Neck I think is a personal choice.

I would be a bit concerned how much cutout there in the pickguard for the volume knob, also are you thinking tone knob as well?

Thanks! I like the black hardware with a roasted maple neck w black dots suggestions. I won't be using the pick guard I think btw.

Thanks great suggestions! I'm probably not going to use the pick guard in the photo as I want a neck pup and tone knobs so yes.

Ok cool, you looking HB or Single neck?

Dont know much about singles but I would vote for the BW set to kind of match the aesthetic of the guitar. Its a lot more versatile than the name implies.

I think I want two HBs (neck and bridge). The end goal for sound is classic rock (Eddie Van Halen and Santana).

Ok, Eddie's sound was all over the place depending on the era, for the bridge something from the Custom family, JB or 78, neck maybe a 59n or SNSn.

Black hardware! As far as the pickup, go with a 78 in the bridge and an Alnico II Pro in the neck for those smooth neck tones.

Yea I'm thinking custom custom on the bridge for EVH since I love his live without a net concert tone and for the neck I would like something Santana 'Smooth' sounding.

Neck: Reverse Strat neck, black back finish and headstock face

Hardware: Black Wilkinson if they make them. Otherwise, black Fender classic style, black bar, black jack, black locking tuners

Pickguard: Black mirror

Pickups, Set of three Duncan Red Devils

I think a roasted neck would look great on that one. Or black back & a red headstock to match the body.
Either way, with locking tuners and a self-lubricating nut.

Looking at the body, I understand the urge for black hardware. But IMO gold would be great too with the red & black.
I like that pickguard, but there's no way to get another pickup on it.

I concur on the CustomCustom bridge and an A2 Pro neck for pickups. Maybe even an A2P bridge at the neck for fatter mids.
I'd probably choose PRS type 5-way wiring via a Megaswitch P or Superswitch.
(Or go HSH with a stacked Strat pickup in the middle and autosplit in positions 2 & 4.)

I'd recommend the PRS type trem from MannMade, too, if price is no object. Otherwise a Wilks would be fine.
Don't know whether the deluxe Wilkinsons are available in black or gold though.
However, I do think they offer the conventional replacement bridges in all colors.

I googled everything you suggested so thanks for that! Yea I think I'm going to go black hardware. The do still make Black Wilkinson hardware but the prices are extreme, one is $40 on Amazon the other is $140 on stewmac, I'm sure there is a reason so I'll have to do more research (looked while "working" very quickly haha). If anyone is familiar with Wilkinson let me know if the cheaper option is decent. Thanks

Great suggestions! Your post took me down some rabbit holes so thanks for that. I love the PRS mod suggestions too. That MannMade tremolo is too pricey for me but looks awesome.

Oh - just noticed 6 hole tremolo. Nevermind Wilkinson then...

CC A2p is a really good call too. Get Black/Red Zebra if you do!

oooo I never even thought of a Black/red zebra combo . I have to look into that, I'm assuming that's a custom shop request.

Aceman Not sure if you saw my other post in this channel but let me know if this Wilkinson tremolo is worth it or if you recommend I get the second one instead. Thanks

I clicked on both threads - no experience with either of those. I was talking about the Wilkinson 100 model

The best 6 hole I know of is Babicz
