Re: help me identify an old pickup Gibson

Flip it over and take a pic.... and measure the ohms at least

Could be anything from this pic

Re: help me identify an old pickup Gibson

its not a 1960 gibson pup, but without more info its hard to say what it is. white coil gibson pups are pretty rare after 1960

Re: help me identify an old pickup Gibson

Not a patent, but a trademark and only valid in the US

Hey guys I talked to the guy who sold me the pickup and he told me that only the bobbins are original gibson

Only the bobbins are original Gibson?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

Those are NOT Gibson bobbins. Not vintage, not modern either.

You're getting duped. Send it back and ask for your money.

Re: help me identify an old pickup Gibson

Gibson bobbins should have a square hole on top, with a circle stamped inside that. Also, the material does not look right. Now, maybe the pickup itself sound really good. That is possible. However, if you bought it because it was supposed to be an old Gibson, then no.

Re: help me identify an old pickup Gibson

thanks a lot guys the bobbins I have are the ones in the middle the others are supposed to be modern bobbins but I know I've been fooled now. may be dimarzio bobbins ?
