Help me identify Fender Tele neck pup

Long story so please bear with me. When I bought my 2003 Am Tele used in 2004 it was missing the neck pup. A kid had it and ruined the original pickguard and but in a strat JB jr. I ordered what I thought was a Delta tone neck from a retailer back east (now out of business) They said at the time that they had them in bulk and shipped it right out. It was not in the Fender square delta tone box but in a plastic bag. They swore it was a Delta tone neck pup. The pup has plastic bobbins, a screw underneath the pickup and the initials EC in white written on the bottom. The reason I ask if this is a Delta tone neckpup is that there is no gray sheilding with the hot wire coming out of that. There are just two wires, a black and white wire. The pickup is bright and not as muffled as the Lindy Fralin stock I had in there. Shortly after I got the DT neck pickup in I discovered I did not like the Delta tone bridge pup and put in a set of Fralins. Well fast forward four years and I just pulled the set of Stock Fralins as I am trying a Seymour Broadcaster in the bridge right now. I had heard that the Delta tone neck is a decent pickup but is that what I have? Sorry for the long story but I love this guitar. (I was a strat man until this tele came along.) This pup and the Broadcaster definitely sound different that the Fralins. Twangier and not as full but good and fun. Thanks for listening, Wayne

ps I have posted this also on the TDPRI forum as well

Re: Help me identify Fender Tele neck pup

The way you described the pickup, it sounds (cosmetically) exactly the same as the stock pickup in my American Telecaster. So yeah, I'd say that is indeed a fender "delta tone" tele neck pickup.
