Help me make sure I don't blow up my amp.

Alright so I'm doing some light tinkering. I have a Peavey XXX 2x12 combo (120w amp with 2x 60w 8-ohm speakers) and an Orange Tiny Terror head. I would like to combine them.
Hook the XXX amp portion into one of its speakers, and the TT into the other speaker.
For the XXX I pulled 2 (inner) power tubes so as not to blow the 60w speaker. My question is what to do with impedance.

The XXX has a selector with 4Ω, 8Ω, and 16Ω. From what I've read it sounds like going to half power doubles the ohmage, so if I'm going into an 8Ω speaker I would want to set the amp on the 4Ω dial, as this would actually be giving me 8Ω.

Is this correct? I just want to make sure before I make anything go boom.

yeah, that's correct! if you halve the tube complement, then you go down a level on the impedance.

Thanks. I did it, and its a blast to play both together. I've never mixed amps before.

rock! I would be scared to do it, but pleased with the results!

It was super easy, I just wanted to double check I set it correctly before I turned anything on. Played a good few hours throughout the day, no ill effects.
