Help me make the best of a bad situation

Okay, so i recently purchased a 2002 MIJ Ibanez Destroyer. Its an amazing piece of wood, slick unfinished neck, very vibrant. just great guitar and a great find. but the electronics are shot. the previous owner had the KfK set of emgs put in (blah) by sam ash (blahhhhhhhh)

now, because he shipped it in the case with the strap on the back, the guitar was pushed against the top of the case and snapped off the gain booster. so now its dead. on top of that, the genius's at sam ash cut the gronud cable flat so now i cant easily swap in passives like i wanted, and i believe they left in the 500k pots insted of the 25k pots that come with the emgs.

so, now i have a couple options. either i stay with actives, which i might, or i figure out how to get a new ground wire. the bridge post is not coming out of the guitar, i tried. so anyone know another way to make a ground to the guitar?

Have you tried heating the bridge post with a soldering iron and then trying to pull it out? Shouldn´t be too hard to loosen the epoxy and get a new wire in there....

otherwise it sounds like a pretty forward rewiring with new pots except for the gain booster.... that should be fixable either either a new toggle switch or if all else fails a new booster.

i wish the dudes at the sam ash stores in new york would get their **** together.

i hate dealing with them. if i lived in long island my opinion of sam ash would be blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as well..

the tech at my sam ash would straighten it out quick tho..a ground wire and a new switch is no big deal.

well i got the guitar in california, plus ive met their techs....im more of a tech than they are. i think im just gonna stay with the emgs...atleast newer ones cause these emgs were going into the schecter
