Help me pick a stain color (Ash)! Post pics of your favs

I really liked this from Jackson. Under certain lights it has a reddish tint, while with other it's completely grey like on the stock photos:

Here's what I meant:

This somehow manages to merge a body shape I don't care for with a headstock I don't care for and the result is a guitar I'd love to own and care for.

I hear ya. In any other version of this particular style is an easy pass for me. This one just seems pretty neat.

This still an active project?

I think many on this thread are forgetting that a gold floyd is meant for the bridge, if that is indeed still the case.
If so, then you should really go with that moss green transparent look. That color just looks perfect with gold.

Like on the 7-string Aries moss green on the first page.

Yea, but was put on the back burner because I just moved across the country.

I ended up using that gold gotoh on my Charvel (pics below), so it looks like i’ll be using the chrome one I have.
But like the Charvel, I will do two tone with black.

As for finish, I’m really leaning towards white wash or gray wash.

Faux flamed maple via iron acetate anyone?

Haven’t even started rubbing in the tung oil and it already looks awesome. Hard to capture the depth in pictures.
