Help me pick a "vocal" like wah pedal

Im looking for a new wah pedal. What I mainly want out of it is:
A) a wide, but even frequency sweep
B) Vocal like expression

The main 2 I've been looking at that are known for their "vocal" tone sweep are the dunlop EVH and the dunlop classic Slash wah

If you have experience with these or any others let me know!!

I don't know if it is what you are looking for but I sold an AMT Japanese Girl Wah to forum bro Artietoo–it had 3 different types of Wah built in that offered short range to very long range and was the best sounding Wah I've ever used...just a thought

He lervs that pedal!

Seems like "most" would be OK,tho, just a matter of getting it/them dialed in.

FWIW,avoid teh Behringer Dime-thingie,total tone sucker.

Literally gave mine away.

I loved the step on to engage feature, tho.Aren't some of Morley Vais like that?

I have just the regular standard dunlop crybaby and its great for what it is.......except the sweep is rather limited and its not true bypass, so my tone is super colored even when the pedal is off

Your location says paradise city, but if you live around a big city, go to a big music store and try everything.
You'll know right away when you step on it. I've gone through a few wah pedals, and the three I've kept are the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, Bonamassa signature, and Jimi Hendrix signature.

Im in knoxville TN. Guitar center is about 4 or 5 minutes away. Gonna have to go pay their wah department a visit

Ha! Maybe he likes girls from Japan..? ;) lol

It was an awesome Wah for sure...I just don't use a Wah for any of my playing whatsoever.

Personally, I think everyone's definition of "vocal" is a little different. As such, I'd second the recommendation to visit a highly stocked guitar store, and if nothing there suits your fancy, I'd recommend a highly tunable Wah that you can dial in to your preference.

Teese RMC3
Xotic Mini Wah
CAE MC404
Crybaby 535Q

I totally agree. In my book Morley is the most vocal wah. It all comes down to preference, what you feel comfortable with and a lot depends on technique. Give me a Crybaby and my wah chops go out the window. The sweep is too narrow. If you want a huge sweep go with a Morley.

Ya thats my issue with the standard crybaby. Way too limited in the sweep. Ill check out some videos of morleys

I really like videos of the new Xotic wah, plus it has features I like.

Re: Help me pick a "vocal" like wah pedal

Hello,
What is the big deal with "inductors" like "Halo" or "Fasel". I bought a CryBaby true bypass in 2001, it had one of those so-called famous inductors, can't remember which. The most vocal I ever heard was Hendrix on "Rainy Day....Dream away" reprise. I keep seeing "Cry Baby" as the real one, but every time I see a picture of Hendrix, especially on Electric Ladyland, where that song is found, I see Vox wah all over the place with Hendrix. When I was a kid I tried a Vox but the tone and volume suck was unbelievable. So I know I ain't no Jimi, but even with true bypass and a Italian* inductor, it just sounded, as some one here says: Meh. I am sure curious about these things. Glad there is a Forum!!

Only one girl for me. ;)

As for the AMT JG Wah . . . I love it. The two things that distinguish it, (besides the fact that it sounds killer), is the switch on the side to select different voices. I use different settings for different guitars. Works great. The other thing is that its controlled optically. All you feel is the hinge. No drag from a gear driven pot. Makes the action very smooth.

Great wah. Try it if you can find one.
