Help me trace old fender speaker data

I recently got a 1982 fender deluxe reverb II in which i immediately replaced the speaker (don't know if it was the original one) with an eminence tonker.

Now i want to fit the old speaker to my fender HRD but i dont know if it can handle the HRD's wattage.

The speaker has the following code on it's back: 137 7905 081810

Does anyone have an idea what's the speaker and how many W is it?

Re: Help me trace old fender speaker data

That's a CTS speaker and since it was stock in a 20 watt amp I'm guessing, w/o seeing it that it's maybe a 30-35 watt speaker so I'm very doubtful it'll last long in a HRD.

Re: Help me trace old fender speaker data

I'm not sure if it was the stock speaker. Is there any way , by checking something on the speaker apart from the code, that can lead me to its wattage?

Re: Help me trace old fender speaker data

Some more info, i don;t know if those are useful, we're speaking about an 8ohm, 12" speaker.

Re: Help me trace old fender speaker data

It might or might not be stock...the speaker dates to Feb 1979 and it is possible that it was still floating around Fender in 1982 to make it into a Deluxe Reverb II

Can you post a pic of it??

It doesn't tell you the wattage of the original speaker, but it is definitely an interesting link:

Put the tonker in your HRd and youll get a chunkier sounding dirty channel with less fizz...and if you can afford it, a cannabis rex is a brilliant speaker for an amp like a DRII (i have a PRII). Use the fender/emi speakers as doorstops.
