Help me with a switching problem

I just got a Revv G4 pedal that sounds awesome through the loop and terrible going into the front end of my amp. But I still want to go into the front end for cleans and for my Wampler Plexi Mini, which I also love.

Is there a pedal that is just a switchable loop where I could swap in the preamp? I'm not willing to spend JHS Switchback money. Or is this something I should just wire up with a box, a switch, and four jacks?

If you're handy with a soldering iron it might be as well to put something together yourself. I'm sure there must be some diy kits.

Otherwise something like a Radial BigShot EFX Effects Loop Switcher, or you might find something simpler still as you seem to just need a single loop switcher.

You can pick up a simple true bypass pedal loop for 30$ - https://saturnworkspedals.com/produc...bypass-looper/

Depending on where you buy your electronics, that might actually be a cheaper option than DIY.

What is your thought on how to connect it? Doesn’t he need two loops that switch simultaneously to swap the signal ins and out ls from Pedals/amp to preamp?

Would you split the signal ahead of the pedals, feed two parallel paths to the pedals->amp and preamp, then feed the outputs of both to the looper…. (One to the input, one to the return of the loop, nothing to the send of the loop and overall output to the power amp?)

Oh, I misunderstood the problem. I thought he just wanted a loop to pull the pedal in/out.

What you're describing is more complex, I'm not sure the best way to do it. I guess he would need to split the guitar signal, then feed the front of the amp and the G4 all the time . . . then he would need an ABY in the effects loop to choose if he wants the amp front end or the G4 signal path

I think that would do it.

Yeah, that was my thought. Kind of like a baby version of how Rack preamps were switched.

Guitar -> G4 -> Wampler -> Preamp -> Loop Out -> Modulation and Delay
versus
Guitar -> G4 -> Modulation and Delay.

I think Steve’s pedal is perfect. All I need to do is connect it between the G4 and the loop pedals.

Yeah...this is a little more complex than it sounds.

Do care if you need to stomp twice? If not, no worries.

If you need one stomp functionality, then this does not work.
