me and two other friends decided to get together and play "turning japanese" by the vapors for a school talent show. im playing bass and ill end up singing too. i have a great voice im told but i dont really sing(cept in the shower :laugh2: ). so im going to learn to sing this song and play bass.

i dont really know anything so i would love to have some singing tips.

also i have equipment questions. i dont really know what kind of stuff to get. i guess all ill need is a mic, stand, and a speaker for the mic, and a mic cable of course.

it seems to have good reviews and i really like the classic style.

could you help me find a nice quality stand that matches the mic(if you guys suggest i get that one) as well?

also what kind of speakers do i need to get for it. i dont know anything about amplifying mics, but i just need to be able to fill a school aditorium.

they do, but i would like to have my own for practice and probaly playing at family functions and such.

For just practicing, one of those Fender passport (I think they're called) p.a. systems, are reasonable priced.

man those passport things are expensive...i only got 300 bucks. what could i do with that?

That is a cool mic and they sound fine. I like the SM & Beta 58's but style points defintely go to the 55. My friends Rockabilly band all use those and they sound fine.

Try some local music shops and pawn shops and see if they have any small PAs cheap. You're just going to be using it for vocals so it doesn't have to be anything exotic.
