I recently installed a set of Alnico II's in my LP. I had to re do the bridge ground because it got cut during installation. I am getting a hum when I am not touching the strings or bridge. I have checked and re checked the bridge ground. When I rewired the ground I used a heavier gauge of wire still copper. What should I do??? Will a noise gate help???:

Re: Help me with string ground Please

Hum and noise in a guitar is one of the hardest problems to solve. Especially with all our computers and flourescent lights. The good news is, if the hum stops when you touch the strings, the bridge is grounded properly. The strings are "grounding" out you. Your body, (being 80% water), brings much of the noise into the guitar.
