Help! Need info from a Strat owner of both H/S/S and S/S/S!

I bought a new H/S/S pickguard a few weeks ago, but haven't installed it yet. (Waiting for a humbucker.) Today, I laid it on top of my Strat to see how it would look and I noticed that the middle pup hole is not in the same spot on the H/S/S guard as it is on the stock S/S/S guard. On the H/S/S guard the middle pup hole is about 5/16" closer to the neck pup hole. Is this right, or did I get a bad guard?

I won't be able to go to the music store to compare Strats until next week, and I can't find catalog pictures of both a Strat and a Fat Strat that are exactly the same size to make a comparison. I need to know so I can return the guard (if it's bad) before it's too late. Thanks!

Well upon reading the title of your post I thought I could be of some help...
I've got both, from what I can tell if it isn't really off by very much you should be alright, but I can't really tell for sure, I appologize, I wish I could be of some more help.

do you have a swiming pool type route or is the bridge the only place a humbucker can fit? if you have a swimming pool route you should be okay but anything else and you may either have to route or look for a new guard. i only own s/s/s strats so i have no measurements for you.

My Strat is routed for H/S/H. Possibly, there's enough room in the middle routing to allow it to fit. I just put on new strings, so I really don't want to pull the pickguard unless it's absolutely necessary. (Only one local shop carries my brand/size strings, and they go quick!) I'm hoping someone with a S/S/S Strat and a H/S/S Strat (both with the H/S/H routing) could measure the distance between their neck and middle pups on each guitar.

I'm in the same boat as you . . . got an HSS pickgaurd that I haven't installed yet. I got it from a forum bro, and I believe that it originaly came from Allparts.

It lines up perfectly with both my Strats. Hope this helps.

What brand pickguard is it?
It is always better to use Fender pickguards on Fender Strats,
a few of the off brand companys like WD are not cut correctly.
