Help needed for wiring for vol switch

Have recently purchased a nearly new Gretsch Pro Jet,,Looks like a LP but with only a master tone and master vol instead of usual 4 pots.Very cool looking guitar that plays welland it actually says Gretsch on the headsock.Pick ups are Gretsch minibuckers which sound quite good but I hope eventually to fit TV Jones Classics although these will cost more than I paid for the guitar..Pups are only 2 conductor so wiring experiments are limited.

Have fitted a CTS tone pot with Orange drop 22 with no load modification..1 have a push pull for the vol control which I want to wire up so it cuts the vol of the bridge pup when pulled up.ie it continues to act as a master vol but with the bridge pup vol rolled back a bit. This is not an original idea because I remember reading about it in a guitar magazine..I have done a forum search but found no mention..Presumably you could acheive this by wiring in a mini pot left loose in the control cavity set to about 5 which kicks in when you pull the push pull up but this sounds a bit basic..Is there a neater way?

I am not keen on the blender pot idea.

Re: Help needed for wiring for vol switch

it would be best to wire in a mini pot, use that to find the value you want then replace it with a resister of that value.

if you want this to only happen on the bridge pup it will be a little trickier since there is a master volume. the resister will need to be inline before the three way switch.

Thanks Jeremy for your comments. These are much appreciated. You have confirmed what I had in mind but its nice to know that I was thinking along the right lines.
