Help needed picking correct pots 500k vs. 300k for new Duncan Custom/PG set

So I bought a brand new Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom (Very Excited) and I'm having the 57 classics taken out (too mellow for my tastes) and installing a SH-5 Custom in the bridge and Pearly Gates in the neck. I also want the guitar tech to take out the PCB and rewire the whole thing with actual pots.

Question is I have read on this site that people recommend a 300k tone pot for the Custom to cut some of the highs?

So what do I need to order to swap out the pcb? I'm thinking 500k push-pull pot (for splitting) and 500k tone pot for the PG neck pickup..... and a 500k push-pull pot and 300k tone pot for the Custom? and do these pots need to be long shaft (I'm thinking yes) Maybe this isn't how it works at all??:9:

The tech guy is out of town right now so I want to make sure I have everything ready when he gets back. And one more thing .047 or .022 capacitors?

The tech told me I needed 4 pots and 2 capacitors for him to do the swap (not changing the input jack or the switch). He ordered 4 500k pots and .047 capacitors, but now I have read about the 300k pots for the Custom and a lot of people saying .022 capacitors and I'm a bit concerned the Custom will be too harsh without it.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I would prefer .022 for the bridge and .015 for a neck, but thats me. .022 are good standard on humbuckers, but .047 is too much. Your luthier should measure all 500k pots and use the lowest one for bridge volume.
One hint: the Custom sounds sometime a bit brash in certain guitars. Back it off from the strings until its fine or try swapping with magnets like a5 or a8

I'd still go 500K pots. I mean the tone knob is there to roll off the highs. There's no prestige lost by having used the thing.
What happens if the guitar is a bit on the dark side.......you can't get back the top-end that the 300k will shunt off permanently.

Try the bridge with the .047 cap.....technically it will roll a slight bit more at 10, and then much more as you approach full off. I'd go much lower value for the neck though. .018 or .01 gives more bite. Once again, you can always roll the tone down.
