help needed soldering a 2 volume, 1 tone humbucker guitar

I placed two new SD pups in my flying V (A2Pn/C5b) but am not getting a signal... the configuration is 2 volume, 1 tone.

I followed seymour's schematic but it still aint' working properly. I messed up somewhere. The three things I believe might be wrong are:

1) the .047 capacitor (500k pots) might be ground to the wrong place. Right now it is soldered to the back of the bridge volume pot, from the tone control. Any suggestions where it should be soldered?

2) the grounds of the two volume controls are soldered to the back of the tone pot. Any suggestions as to where they should be soldered?

3) the diagram of the toggle switch from the schematic is confusing. It says that the volume pots are to be soldered to the two ends of the toggle switch, and they currently are. One of the middle two connection spaces (on the toggle switch) is to be soldered to the tone pot. But which space?Any suggestions as to what might be wrong witht he way I soldered the toggle switch?

Any help or suggestions?

Can you post the link to the schematic you used?

That will give me a base line as to where to start.

In the mean time, did you make sure that the back of the pots are also soldered to the negative terminal of the output jack?

Thats the only "real" ground on the guitar.

Hi Artie. here is the schematic:

I didn't know that all three pots needed to be soldered to the output negative jack. To be honest, which side is negative? This is my first time dealing with a brand new output jack.

At the moment, the neck and bridge volume pots are soldered to the back of the tone pot. The .474k cap (500k pots) is soldered from the tone pot to the back of the bridge volume pot.

The pups are a C5(b) and an A2P(n). 4 conductor wires.

Angelo.

(I've soldered many guitars before, just not this particular schematic). I feel that I am close to having this right!

Its the green arrows:

The ground connection on the jack, is the only "true" ground on the guitar. The ones on the back of pots are for convenience. Everything, (ground-wise), must eventually make its way back to the output jack in order to work.

I imagine, that if you just connect a jumper from the back of the pots, to the green arrow lug, everything should work. I hope. :laugh2:
