Help on James Tyler/Duncan slanted HB

I hoping to get an answer from the Duncan people but does anyone know exactly what model this is? It's a trembucker that is really slanted (the bobbins don't line up straight). Is it a modded TB4? PA-TB1? 2?

Can you order this direct or through a Duncan distributor or do you have to go through a Tyler dealer?

Is there only one model or can you get others models slanted as well?

I don't supposed you can get covers, black or zebras or other colors? (I've only seen them in double whites)

Re: Help on James Tyler/Duncan slanted HB

The pickup is a Tyler exclusive that's made in our "other" custom shop, the one run by Kevin Beller (not Seymour and MJ). You can order it directly through Kevin, but I can tell you that he's really backed up at the moment and the lead time could be as much as 12 weeks. Kevin could make a cover, but it would be so amazingly expensive, you'd have to be Donald Trump to afford it. I wouldn't imagine that black or zebra would be a problem.

BTW, if you get Bass Player Magazine, you can read Kevin's Tech Q&A in this month's issue.

Hello,

I have one of these pickups in the bridge of Tyler SE. It is a Alnico V pickups...similar to a 59 in voicing....

Steve....mine sounds almost identical to a JB! It's running on 250k pots and everyone I know with a JB is running on 300 or 500k pots so I can't be 100% sure.
