put in a pair of 59s and replace the pots with nice quality 500k pots and sprague .022uf caps.

The one potential drawback to that is that I've had '59N's do that boomy/bassy thing in 335's. I wish that PU didn't have so much low-end. Maybe a JazzN would be better.
