Help please, I cannot for the life of me work out what is wrong here

Hi all. I have wired this up, it looks fine to me but when only the humbucker is selected there is no signal coming from it. when i take it apart and prod it it sounds like a grounding issue so i grounded the switch to the volume but that makes no difference??

any ideas??

In the pictures, I can’t tell what’s happening with the white wire from the humbucker? Also what diagram were you following to wire it up - were you wanting to split the humbucker in position 4?

Welcome to the forum!
I am sorry you are having issues. Is it just the humbucker that isn't working right, or is it anything else? Do the volumes and tones work?

It may be a bad solder joint too, that's pretty messy looking soldering IMO.

It looks like you are stretching that wiring pretty tight between the volume pot ground and the hot to the switch.

I really can't tell, but did you solder the red and white wires together? If not, that's your problem.

Shallow cavity, something shorting out on the shielding?

I really can't tell, but did you solder the red and white wires together? If not, that's your problem.

Come to think of it, I can't really see where the red & white wires are going. They have to be soldered together.

Additionally....what are the other pickups?? Fender??

Stock Fenders will be reverse phase to Duncan, so you'd have to reverse the locations of black and green wires.

But all the soldering is very messy - looks like a way too low heat iron IMO. It would be well worth getting the right iron (40-50W)and literally reflowing every single connection there. None of them pass muster really.
