Help? (Possible wiring issue)

I just got a BC-2 today, dropped it in the bridge pos. in my Jaguar. Before I strung it up I plugged into my amp (clean gain 2 - volume 9) everything seemed kosher. Tapped the blades, all switches and knobs were functioning properly. I bumped the gain up to 4 thinking I'd be appreciating the absence of that horrid 60 cycle hum... and instead it's worse than ever!

I'm thinking maybe there's a ground issue?

I don't quite know where I went wrong. Red to hot, green and bare to ground, black and white soldered n wrapped w/ heat shrink.

(FWIW, the hum on the neck pickup seems worse as well.)

It's been a while since I've done this. The directions state that "When connecting the BARE wired to ground, make sure it does not come in contact with any other connections."

Should I not have wired the bare to the back of the vol. pot?

Any help guys? Sorry if I appear noobish. I'm off my game.

Re: Help? (Possible wiring issue)

Could be a ground loop somewhere, I guess.

Hmm, wait... shouldn't black should be hot, and red and white soldered together?

Re: Help? (Possible wiring issue)

For standard Dimarzio black and white go together, red hot, green and bare ground.

Electrical issues make Hulk want to smash.
