Help selecting pick-up (newbie)

Hello all, first post here.

I've been playing acoustic guitar and slide guitar for some time, but can no longer fret or play slide well on a regular acoustic guitar. So I'm building a lap steel guitar.

I want a sound like Ronnie Wood's slide on "Cut Across Shorty", as heard here (~5 mins in):

and other similar songs.

He plays a Zemaitis custom and I've been told the guitar had PAF or Humbucker pickups.

Can anybody recommend a set of pickups (bridge/neck) that will give that sound, but that will also be somewhat versatile?

I'm a newbie at electric guitars and guitar building.

Thanks a heap,

Re: Help selecting pick-up (newbie)

if i was building a lap steel, id put a seth lover in the bridge and thats it. if you wanted a set, you could get a pair of seths or 59's. both are versatile and would sound good in this application. what scale are you thinking about?
