Help setting up Line 6 Toneport UX2

I got one for graduation, and I set it up exactly according to the included instructions onto my Apple iMac G5. However, it doesn't work--when I go into that Gearbox Monkey thing, it says that no device is detected and the only choices I have for devices are the Line 6 PodXT series.

Anybody know what the matter is? I tried sticking it on my PC too, but to no avail, I got the same thing.

are you sure you installed the drivers fully?

did you go to the website and d/l the latest patches/updates/etc?
i remember having to register and open an 'account' on the line6 site in order to get sorted

also, i remember having to do some powerdown/restarts

are you trying to talk to it ASIO or USB2 ?

USB 2.0

Hmmmm, I remember doing that stuff online too...maybe I'll give it another shot.

I also know the original Guitarport wasn't even supported for Mac's - have they updated that?

Try updating your usb drives for your motherboard and any possible usb related updates from windows update.

Hmmmm, I tried all the Line 6 Monkey Updates (USB Drivers, Gearbox, etc.) and still, no good. It says it DOES recognize my Tone Port now though...but when I plug my guitar into it, there's no noise, and the VU meters don't pick anything up either (by the way, my volume knobs ARE rolled up).

*sigh* I can't figure out what I'm missing here!

are you piping the audio out your computers sound port?

or using headphones/monitors on the ux2?

sometimes the VU meters won't move if you are not VUing input

are you still on the mac? or PC?

Yeah, I changed my sound preferences to use the TonePort, but no good. I'm not using headphones or monitors, and I am configuring it for the PC at the moment, but I'll soon try it on the Mac again.

I tried it on my Mac and I got the same thing. It's recognized, everything is updated with Line 6 Monkey, but still no sound.
