Sorry, I'm not understanding horizontal 3+3's. Maybe a link to what you bought might help.

Re: HELP UNDERSTANDING TUNERS vertical vs horizonal??

They are listed as Grover STA-TITE Original Guitar Tuners 3x3 Horizontal Mounting Nickel 98 Series
and I think a Les Paul takes vertical model?

Re: HELP UNDERSTANDING TUNERS vertical vs horizonal??

It isn't at all clear what those terms mean. Are you talking about "banjo style" (like a Firebird) vs. regular style (like almost everything but a Firebird)? Or do you mean tuners for a slotted peghead (like old steel-stringed acoustic guitars and nylon-stringed guitars) vs. a solid peghead?

Re: HELP UNDERSTANDING TUNERS vertical vs horizonal??

It took me a while of looking at them to see the difference, but yes you would need the vertical style. The horizontal style would be for guitars with the slotted headstock like classical acoustic guitars.

Re: HELP UNDERSTANDING TUNERS vertical vs horizonal??

Ya they are for a slotted head guitar, and they wont mount correctly. I was just pipe dreaming that they might some how work, but no such luck.
Thanks.
