Help, urgent opions needed!

My band is playing a festival at the weekend and I have just been informed that I can't use my trusty Marshall rig and have to use one of the amps they supply.
My choices are a Laney VC 50 or a Peavey Classic 50. I'm not familiar with either of these - what do you guys think? Any opinions on these models?
Any comments would be greatfully received.
I play in a 4 piece (vocals, guitar, bass and drums) and we do all original material. Kind of like Free, early Gov't Mule, Led Zep kind of vibe but a little heavier.
My normal sound is a Marshall 100w head and 4x12 cranked up to full but tamed a bit with an attenuator.
My guitar sound is similar to the first Gov't Mule album. That classic overdriven, sweet, creamy les-paul tone.
Any thoughts would be greatfully received!

Laney.

I take it you already tried offering to use your head into their cab (attenuated)?

Yeah - they weren't keen as there are too many bands on the bill and they want the switch over time between bands to be as brief as possible.

I love the Classic 50, but if you're used to a Marshall, the Laney might be a better choice for you.

I agree on the Laney if you are aloud to use your attenuator. Is the impedance going to be correct?

Thanks for the reply mate.
Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

Yep...try them both when the time comes and play through the one you like best. Until then, don't worry about it. :burnout: Lew

Re: Help, urgent opions needed!

Have you got a friendly guitar store or maybe two which have these amps so that you can try them out and get a rough indication of what they can do and then you can decide. I would suggest the Laney as this is going to get very near your Marshall set up.

Good luck for the festival!
