Help using the NS-2

I just bought a Boss NS-2 to try to pull back just a little bit of preamp gain noise I'm getting from my Jubilee. I figured I'd run it in the amp's FX loop. What's the proper way to wire this up? The input/output return/send connections on the pedal are confusing me for this type of setup.

Re: Help using the NS-2

Maybe I should exchange it for a pedal with not so many inputs/outputs so I can run it straight through the effects loop? (send->ns2->return)

Re: Help using the NS-2

I'm not 100% on this but I don't think you need to put it in the FX loop. I put mine in front of the amp using input/output plugs and it works just fine.

Re: Help using the NS-2

The noise your'e trying to control should be in the effects loop of the NS-2. I'm not sure your application is what the pedal is really designed for, but just for the heck of it try this:

Guitar into NS-2 Input
NS-2 "Send" to amplifier input
Amplifier effects loop out to NS-2 "Return"
NS-2 Output to Amplifier effect loop return

If your amplifier's preamp doesn't overdrive the pedal it will probably work like this.

Good luck!

Re: Help using the NS-2

Yeah as this seemed a bit messy I decided to return the NS-2 and go with an ISP Decimator. Thanks though.

Re: Help using the NS-2

IMO, I would put the NS2 in front of your amp, not in the loop.

If you're using your amp's FX loop for effects, just leave it alone. Unless you want the NS2 to remove noise from that signal chain then use the send/return on the NS2 from the fx loop from your amp. Otherwise, just leave 'em.

Re: Help using the NS-2

If you wanted to put it into the loop, just ignore the pedal's "send/return" jacks. But now you have an ISP, so it's easier to deal with.
