Help w/ drum tracks

I know this has been talked about before, but could someone please help me with links for free drum track downloads? I would like to be able to add fills, but I need samples of whole kits. Loops would be cool, and I would prefer that I not have to program each piece in order to get a whole kit loop going.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Help w/ drum tracks

I use hammerhead, and they have downloadalbe banks
it can sound good, but you'll have to experiment a bit...its free though.

Re: Help w/ drum tracks

well like most things in life, you may have to open up the wallet. beta monkey has good loops, and they have some free samples you could nab, but yeah, for like $30 you can get a whole CD of whatever style you need, with fills and individual hits in there too.

I haven't searched lately for ready-to-go drum loops, but when I did extensively, beta monkey's were the best for the money. I say ready-to-go, but you still need to program in some cymbal hits if you want accents here and there.

It's still work with their loops. You need to pour through them to see what's going to fit, string them all together, and inevitably you'll need to make a compromise with your riffs somewhere along the line to match the loops. But it works.

yeah, hammerhead is nice for programming in exactly what you want. and you'll have to download some banks (which are also free) of better, acoustic drums.

I use it but its a real PIA to get working right. because it goes by measure. but it also has an export session button...so you can make the song in realtime and make that whole thing into a WAV file.

but for all studio purposes, its good for being free....but you have to do everything measure by measure

Re: Help w/ drum tracks

heres a better one on the same page...less techno more realistic

link

I use that one for all my "just-for-fun" jams.

This one will get you pumped up

Hotstepper

Here are a few more that are less exciting

A hip hop jam
Rosewood
A backing track I made for church
God of Wonders

They are definitely not realistic, though.

I hear you can download new banks of sounds, but I have and have not figured out how to get the program to see them.

Open the wallet.

I just bought a midi controller with drum pads and I'm waiting to pick my software to make real drum sounds.

Re: Help w/ drum tracks

that hammerhead with the acoustic userbanks doesn't do a half bad job. its just a PIA to have to copy and paste every track every time you want a change. I use it and takes a while to get everything in place....but it makes you appreciate the end product more. :D
