Help wiring new Duncans...

I've got my new Duncans in the pickguard and ready to go, but need a little help with the wiring. I'm using the following set up

Ant I RWRP in the neck
A2 regular wind in the middle
Custom 5 in the bridge position

What I would like to do is to have the neck and middle wired to a single volume (250K pot) and have the Custom 5 on a second volume pot (500K) and a single master tone control. Based on what I've read, I'm gonna switch the white and black leads on the Ant so that it will jive with the A2 Pro in the middle. The a2 pro and the Custom 5 will be wired as stock with no splitting for the Custom 5.

Can someone help me out with the diagram for this one? :smack:

I can tell you where to connect the master tone: to the output jack basically.

This would be one way:

That has the classic dual-volume control problem in that, when you select #4, (middle & bridge), either control will affect both pups.

This is the classic "LP" way:

This way, the volumes don't interact quite so bad, but turning down the volume will change the character of the pup.

Its a trade off, that you just have to choose between. (Or use one volume pot.) ;)

Artie and Lew, thanks for the replies.

You know, I never thought about the problem of mixing the pups/changing the tone.

I hate to waste the inherent tone of two cool pups like the ant and A2. Meaning, running the singles into 500K pots really kills my single coil tone (too bright IMO-not the way these were designed to run). At the same time, I can't see feeding the Custom 5 to the 250K pot either, as that will lose the highs I'd like to keep.

I know Lew doesn't like the tone (heh heh), but perhaps I'll just go with the standard 5 way switching/strat setup and and use a JB at the bridge with the A2 pups. I personally like the sound of the JB into a 250K pot (esp since my Strat is ash-plenty of highs), and then I don't have to sacrifice the cool single coil tone either.

But now, what am I gonna put in my Wolfgang?!?!?! (that's where the JB was headed...) :)
