Help wiring SH1n and TB6 into Ibanez JS100

Hi guys.

Just got my hands on a lovely set of SD pups (SH1n and TB6) but am having difficulty working out what wire goes where!!

Lets take the SH1n to start with.

From the old pickup (AH1) I have a white wire going to the 3 way switch, a red wire going to the bottom of the push/pull tone pot and a slightly thicker black wire going to the top of the tone pot. There is also a thin black wire connected to the volume pot that randomley dissapears into the body of the guitar so I don't know where the other end is!

Now, if I follow that and do a straight swap for the SH1n, it leaves me with a thin black wire coming from the SH1n not connected to anything!

Any ideas?

The inside is one volume pot, one push/pull tone pot for coil tapping and a 3 way switch.

A detailed description of how to wire these pups in with the coil tapping enabled would be extremely appreciated if someone knows what they are doing.

Cheers guys,

Dave.

Use the color codings in this diagram:

And here's the one for 3-way switch translation:

Don't worry about the old color coding if you're replacing both pickups. The black wire that disappears into the body is the ground wire that you attach to the back of the pots.

Will this still work even though the diagram shows the push/pull on the volume pot and mine is the tone pot?

yup, the function of the switch is separate from the pot itself, and the only thing that is going from the switch to directly to the pot is the ground so you're fine. Wire everything the same, only the red and white will be going back towards the tone pot instead because the switch is on it, and the two bottom lugs on the switch that tie to ground will just go down to the tone pot.

OK, cheers for the help! I'll post tommorow to say how it goes!
