Hi guys
I want to change the bridge on my strat and need some input from seasoned veterans in that department.
I have a Japanese strat model '86 I think, modeled after the more vintage strats, i.e. small fretboard radius and to my dislike a very wide spaced tremolo bridge.
Unfortunately the resale value of this fine instrument is a joke here in Iceland so I have decided to modify the axe to my liking. I am torn between installing a Wilkinson bridge or converting to a fixed bridge.
So my question to you guys is........... Is it possible to convert a tremolo bridged strat body to a fixed bridge strat body? And if so, can you recommend me a bridge model that would fit so the drilling holes would not be placed over the void left by the tremolo bridge.
Any opinion is most welcome, even just to tell me that this is just plain nuts
Thank you very much
Petur
