Help with humbucker installation

I have taken apart my Aria SG copy to look at the PUPs, but not really sure how to put one part back together again, can someone help. Here's the problem. The black plastic housing with four screws where the humbucker pickup sits is higher on one side than the other. Plus the humbucker has adjustable screws on one side. QUestion : For the BRIDGE pickup do the adjustable screws sit closer to the BRIDGE side or NECK side? What about the higher side of the housing, BRIDGE or NECK side?

Then. what about the NECK pickup? Do the adjustable pole pieces sit closer to the NECK or on the BRIDGE side? What about the higher edge of the housing?

Thanks, experts!!!

the ring around the humbucker is call a humbucker mounting ring, the higher side of it on the bridge pickup should be closer to the bridge, and the adjustable pole pieces should also be closer to the bridge. the neck pickup mounting ring's higher edge should be closer to the neck, and the adjustable pole pieces should be closer to the neck also. good luck

Excellent, I guessed that much when I put it back together, and it turns out I was right. THanks again!

Well on a Les Paul style, the neck pup mounting rings that I've seen have always had their higher side towards the bridge; therefore is allows the pups to be angled along the plane of the strings as they descend from the bridge down towards the fretboard. The adjustable pole normally go toward their respective placements, bridge toward brdige, and neck towards neck ... they may be turned though, personal choice.

Yikes! That's backwards: higher edge of both mounting rings should be facing the bridge.

Thank you! ... :) Maybe they are talking about this particular guitar, I have seen them backwards, but I would have to guess that that is something that the manufacturer wished for whatever reason ...

Hi I too have a question about the mounting ring. If it's for Ibanez RG series, should the higher edge of both mounting rings facing the bridge? I forgot to take a pic before I take it apart.

Wrong.

The higher edge of both pup rings goes toward the bridge.
