I need help finding a midi rack mountable effetcs unit.
I dont want any overdrive or distortion effects, just real good delays, chorus, echo's and so on, you get he picture.
And dont need an pedal board either.
I have just bought a Rivera Knucklehead KHR 100 head and cab so i have all the dirty and distortion sounds i will ever need and a good clean channel, just need some great effects to make it complete!!

Cheers for the help!

TC Electronics G-Major. Midi board controlled, though.

:D WELCOME TO THE RIVERA FAMILY :D lol

I would look into the Lexicon MPX G2 for effects, or an Eventide, which may be out of your price range, tho ...

You need a midi board unless you like scrolling through presets on several devices at once. You will also be missing out on changing, say, delay times to match your tempo without a midi board.
You wanted a 'midi rackmountable effects unit' but you don't want to use the 'midi' part of it?

The new Rivera head comes with a great midi pedal which can access external midi devices.

If you want something a bit simpler I still stand by the old Alesis quadraverbs, although the chorus can get a bit irritating if set strong, the phaser is *old phase 90* territory (yes even after distortion), the pitch shift makes the better chorus for leads, the eq section is great, and the reverbs and delays a really sweet ... no tap tempo for the delays though, the flanger is okay, very useful but a bit gummy clean. The trigger flange is great with distortion. The leslie is good sounding (doesn't sound like a leslie, but what does except a leslie). The tremolo on the later units is basic but good sounding. Great piece, and you can use an ordinary footswitch if you want the ability to chain thru a couple different patches rather than have you amp change it for you. They are real reasonable used, try to find one and check one out to get a feel for how they are set up, as they are a bit different. I've heard a lot of good things about Rocktron though, especially in regard to their chorusing, still though the Quads mix section is pretty well thought out, but the intellifex has that as well I believe (the QDVB will be cheaper though).

A new Lexicon MPX G2 goes for about $1800 US ...
Yeah, they're pretty pricey brand new. But, you can find them for under $500 on Ebay :)

For Justice, I'd recommend the Lexicon MPX-1 over the MPX G2 because he's not looking for any of the distortion modelers, wah's, etc. The MPX-1 does some of the best reverbs and delays I've ever heard. And you can probably score one on Ebay for $300 or less!
