Help with next guitar

Hi -
I am looking into getting another guitar to add to my collection (not really a collection yet). I presently have an ibanez rg550 and an ibanez aef18 (acoustic/electric).
Looking for something different and have narrowed it down to the following:

Jackson DK2 crimson swirl
Jackson DX10D tran. blue
OLP MM1 Floyd.

The first 2 are used and are ~$250 whereas the olp would be new at the same price.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

i like jacksons so you could go with those, but if i were so id save and get something around 600$

I like the Jacksons as well but I'm really sold on Schecters. I bought a C1-classic a few years ago and love it. They make some good guitars for a reasonable price.

Schecters are good. I think they are the best low end guitars out there for the money. If you like Musicman, check out the SUB1 or SUB2. They make a real quality instrument. I think someone was blowing them out for $400 recently. If you spend a hundered or two more than the $250 you have you will get a MUCH better guitar. It would be a better investment I think.

i would go with the jacksons, or at least save enough to get a music man instead of the olp youll be alot happier

Of the 3 listed, the DK-2 is by far the highest quality. It´s a no-brainer IMO.

Seeing how you you seem to have an affection for the Ibanez lineup, check out the 2005 SZ320. Dollar for dollar the best axe money can buy.

The Jacksons are real good. If you have the choice to buy a DK-2 and you like the SSH configuration i would not hesitate.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions -
Another question, how are the peavey wolfgang exp? I really like the wolfgang shape but can't try out the peavey wolfgang as they are no longer made.
Seems like the general census is to save up and get something better. But still will try out the guitars above again.

Mostly old school metal, but am getting into blues and jazz so i would like something versatile.

Blues and Jazz? might I suggest something a bit unorthodox?

Try a Thinline tele, preferrably a MIJ 69 reissue. It'll cover blues and jazz, and with the right pickups (vintage rythm stack, lil 59 lead), it'll do metal if need be.

Besides, if you want something different, get something really different.

I play everything from blues to funk to (rare) poppy shiz to extreme metal, and I swear by my Jacksons more than any other piece of equipment I own.

1. There are multiple models, some more versatile than others, but almost all are versatile enough (possibly with simple wiring mods necessary, depending on how nit-picky you are) to cover what I listed. In Stock condition

2. "mostly old school metal": Jackson and Charvel DEFINED the old school metal sound.

A good PLAYER can do anything with any guitar, I can semi-decently do most of my work and cop dozens of tones with a single hum Charvel and a tweak of the amp settings. It´s all in the fingers and the soul.
