I'm trying to just slap an SM57 right to my sound card and record that way..I don't have any fancy software or anything..but just wanna mic my cab and friggin' record something...
I can't hear anything comming through the mic...am I able to record this way? help~
I'd check your "Sound and Audio Devices" in your PC's control panel. You can test and setup your mic levels in there or maybe in your soundcard's software.
Just a quick idea, I mic up my amp to run through my PC speakers when I'm just jamming at home. I've got these cool Altec Lansing MX 5021 (90 watts RMS) speakers. It sounds huge and better than some crappy PA's I've heard.
from what I've been told, I need a mic pre amp to get the shure to work through my sound card...either which way, it wouldn't friggin' work...so I was reduced to using a ****ty pc voice mic..ugh..lol
