Help with pickup installation

I need a step-by-step tutorial for installing a pickup. You can leave out the soldering parts. I'll just refer to the guide for that.

I have a few stupid questions too.

Can I use the stock ring to mount the pickup, or do I have to use the one it comes with?

How do I plug the screw holes in the body so they don't loosen over time? I used to use small woodchips, but I read about using small dowels.

If there are any other tips you can give me, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

That explains why when I searched for "install" nothing came up. Thank you.

If you've got one with the pickup you may as well use it, unless it's dramatically different to the one on your guitar. I use the ones fitted to the guitar if they are standard

C0cktail sticks and super glue. Alternatively, get some long reach screws form Allparts http://www.allparts.com/

Re: Help with pickup installation

I wanted to use the stock ring since it's kinda chrome lookin'. The new pickup has a black ring.

I'll try that c0cktail stick idea. I just wanted to know for when I take the ring off. It's not gonna be as tight when I put it back on.
