I am building a warmoth guitar and need help with my initial pickup selection.
First Let me say that my hands are trebly. They just are.
This is what I'm starting with.
Black limba soloist body with a 1/8 quilted maple top. H-S-S Floyd Rose
Maple neck, with maple fretboard.
I have an mahogany ESP Eclipse II with a JB in the Bridge that I LOVE, but I had a JB in a soloist that sounded like trebly trash due to the maple neck through. I want a fat but alive sounding humbkr that will sound like the Eclipse. I would like for it to be hot and able to perform the Godsmack that we do and sound heavy, but not muffled, but in a maple fretboard guitar. I'm thinking Custom Custom.
Single coil: The neck I want to definitely sound like a fat bluesy strat lead. The middle single coil I want it for clean stuff and want it to glissen and have that "bell" tone, but needs to be hot enough to match the others reasonably well.
Ideas? ANy help is greatly appreciated.
