Help with Strat pickup

I've been using DiMarizo HS-3's in my Strats for years and never tried Duncan "s" type pickups. I mainly play metal and want to keep it s/s/s. What are you using and does anyone have sound clips?

if you dig DiMarzios...check out the SDS-1 Strat Pickups..."Super Distortion Single Coil"...KILLER PICKUPS IN ALL POSITIONS IMHO!!!

if you wanna check out the duncan singles for metal then i would try and hunt down a set of the liverwire IIs for strat. Killer active pups that sound nice and stratty when clean but take heavy gain better than any single coil ive tried.

for metal like sounds in a SSS strat i'd stick to Stacked strat size buckers myself... the JBjr and Hotrails... that sort of thing...

but if it has to be true single coils i could see some of the higher output SSL-5's or 6's making some impact... but noise is a factor

I installed a DiMarzio HS-3 and YJM in the Strat. They sound good, the YJM in the neck is sweet, but since I've been using a full humbucker equipped guitar for the past few years I realized I prefer that thick sound in the bridge. The set up on this Strat is purrrrrfect so I want to turn it into a workhorse.

I'm considering the following humbuckers. Duncan Distortion, JB and Custom Custom.

I may be contradicting with my described sound, I'm looking for a smooth distortion with good tone, Not dry or too tight, a metal or maybe even heavy rock sound. ie; that strum an E chord and everybody during sound check looks over and says, "yeahhhhhhhh, sweet sound." My initial thought was go Duncan Distortion or JB. I'm hit and miss on the JB. Then someone threw a wrench in by mentioned the Custom Custom. Oh, the choices!

I like Dough Aldrich's sound but I'd rather Seymour Duncan over the $$$ Suhr pu's.

I play with high gain, using the amps distortion and tap a Morley Wha from time to time during solos. Here's the set up with this axe: Fender American Strat 10's at Eb or 11's at D, Morley Wha, Peavey 6505+,Marshall 4x12 cabs.
