help...

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
I'm jonesing guys!

I said NO MORE GUITARS - until at least 2020....(didn't totally lose my mind!)

But I'm jonesing bad. I need a new 6 string fix. I know a guy with a pink Kramer shred stick. I know where I can find a BC Rich Natural Bich used for $400. They have Crackle Jacksons out. I need to buy a Lawsuit Dean to fight the man. I want a Chibson as a protest. There are cheap Ibanez all over the place.

I'm hurting'. HELP!!!!!

Re: help...

This Doctor prescribes you a dose of BC Rich Bich. It'll calm down those symptoms until 2020 without breaking the bank.

Re: help...

Definitely do some Bich-ing to soothe the itching. I love mine!

Re: help...

Consider the les paul like options that Ibanez,Esp and Cort can offer. These options could do it for the chibson part of your Gas. Some guy here tried a les paul Cort and said that she has a great les-paul tone for that budget guitar and it was well made too, this guy is called Diego i think.

Good luck on your quest and don't forget to get a proper wig.

Re: help...

I can't believe people aren't supporting you in your endeavour to NOT buy a guitar.

Here's a video to take your mind off it.

I always like the production of that guys videos -nice guitar -but here are a couple of thoughts.

One -He's got great "tone" fingers, and 8,000 dollars worth of processing between his JHS neve pre pedal, his Mesa Amp, his recording mic, and his Focusrite Pre (if I remember correctly), and Protools plugs -so if you love this guitar, which to me -it's a great sounding LP -beware that 90% of the sound you like is those fingers/ear, Lawler pickups and his great downstream chain -not the guitar's detail and accoutrements -so don't lose your mind on the guitar construction delivering that sound.

Two- My experience with Eastman (like most importers and Gibson lol) can be hit or miss -looks like he got a good one -I've seen the opposite of the this as several times -that said, most of the rough Eastmans can be improved if it's not a dimensional sizing/fitting issue.

Three- He never mentions the mismatched book match tiger maple top (see comment above) . -many buyers spending $1,500.00 would want at least a slightly better match -he's had it a month and doesn't notice it? Nah, more likely, he's doing a solid for the free Eastman guitar -plus book matching is purely aesthetic so maybe he doesn't care? considering he only holds the guitar in a position where you can see it a few times and for very short durations, I'd say he's trying to keep that out of the main narrative but also inform the detailed viewer for some disclosure.

Four, -minor but before the video got past 20 seconds, I already knew it was handmade from all the imperfections in the contours of the tiger maple top (look at :07 to :22) -not a big deal and a lot of it may be the thin antique style finish making it more noticeable , but there sure are a lot of them compared to regular handmade Luthiers LP where there are enough to know it's handmade, but not as many non intended waves like this guitar, but hey it's handmade and Chinese and a good deal -and this would not affect my purchase decision.

Overall, a very rad guitar, I just thought the review didn't mention the very few negatives or purchase details that a detailed buying might need to consider.

I checked, and these guitars can be had for 1200.00 to 1600.00 -so that's pretty awesome -and the sweet spot for a professional player to use at gigs.

I agree about this guys production. It’s great.
A friend of mine from work wanted to learn guitar. He knows absolutely nothing about music/guitars.
He told me he wanted to buy a semi hollow for his first guitar. Although that’s his prerogative I told him I didn’t think that was a good idea for a first guitar.
He then finds a video from this guy comparing a semi vs a solid body playing Metallica riffs. Of course both guitars in the vid sounded eerily similar.
I had to explain to my friend how production/post production eq, compression etc all worked in the context of what we see and hear on YouTube.
I’m not saying that this guy is trying to deceive anyone, but of course to put out vids that are on par with his quality there’s a ton of studio work that goes into it.
