hey peeps, my bands just got started n we are new all this, whats the best and cheapest way to start using a mic set up, at the moment its plugged in to a guitar amp.

Re: Help !

i am going out on a limb and guessing that you are talking about vocal mics for live singing (rehearsals / gigs) .. if that is the case, i think you might want to look into some good condition, used PA gear ... if you only have one person singing, you could go with a powered speaker that accepts a mic input (XLR) ... you probably want it to be a 2-way (like a 12" and a horn / dome tweeter) .. if you arent playing insane volumes, you can get away with a couple hundred solid state watts

if you need more inputs for other singers, you'll need a mixer taht feeds the speaker

if you are putting more than vocals into the PA, you need alot more than this

tell us more - we'll help more

cheers

Re: Help !

sorry guys i dint realise, yeah its for the vocalist singin during practices, we havnt yet reached the gigging stage and at the moment investing in a PA seems a bit too much and pricey.

Thnx for the help.
