Here comes the sun...

Well, I finally took the plunge and order an NKT-275 Sunface! I'm super stoked, and I can't wait for it to get here. Of course, it's got to be built first... so I'm hoping to get it in two weeks or so. I can't wait for it to get here. I'm surfing teh interwebz listening to GE fuzz face clips biding the time until it gets here. It'll pair nicely with the new tremolo pedal I'm buying next week. I got mine with the fuzz on/off pot and the sundial. Did I mention I can't wait for it to get here?

Ugh, these next few weeks aren't going to be fun...

Re: Here comes the sun...

I got the red dot. I thought he was out of the high gain? Or is that just the regular white dot ones?

Either way, I didn't want to spend the extra $25 just for a bit more gain. I figure that if I want more gain from it, I'm probably using it wrong.

I dunno if he has HGs anymore or not, I am pretty sure hes still out of white dots.

The HG NKT is cool...more gain than any Ge but still less than an Si and a good clean up overall...

Either way, cool deal, I'm happy for you and you now have, IMHO the BEST Fuzz Face clone on the market today!

i love my red dot, i havent found another fuzzface i like better

Re: Here comes the sun...

Thanks guys! I just got word that the Micro Vibe I bought from PGS almost a month ago (returned my first one because it was defective, then they were out of stock until today) is shipping today. I'm not a Jimi player, but I'll be in Jimi heaven haha!

Re: Here comes the sun...

Nice, I'm seriously considering a fuzz and it's a choice between the Sunface and the new Bonamassa fuzz. I'm leaning more towards the Sunface, the size of the J.B Fuzz is a major factor although it looks and sounds cool. Anyway, looking forward to your review.

Re: Here comes the sun...

you order so many pedals! i am so jealous

I've just been on a buying streak lately. After I get this, and the Micro Vibe that's been back ordered for a month, there will only be three pedals that I want - Alter Ego Delay, Cusack Tap-a-Whirl, and a Way Huge Supa Puss to replace my Deja Vu. I'll be ordering the first two this month, and since the Way Huge won't come out for a good while, I'll be done buying for a few solid months. It'll be a nice feeling, I think.

There were a few main features that drew me to the Sunface over any other FF clone:

  • The external bias knob (sundial) will be not only a great sonic tool, but will allow me to adjust the bias on the fly to match the ambient temperature of wherever I happen to be playing.
  • On/Off Fuzz pot. A super handy feature, since (from what I've heard) GE Fuzzes sound much better with a battery, and it's easier to turn the pot all the way down than to unplug it.
  • The internal "clean" trimmer. If you don't know what it is, look it up - sounds extremely useful.
  • Analogman has a reputation for quality, and most everyone says the Sunface is the best. Plus, since they hold their value so well, if I don't end up loving it, I can turn it and not loose too much money.
  • The thing just looks so cool, doesn't it?

I'd love to give the Bonamassa a try, but the enclosure is just too big for me. I like all of my effects on the board, and I couldn't fit that on mine.
