Here's my needs...you give the suggestions

I want a "unit" (amp?) that:

-can be used as an interface to record my guitar using a computer.

-can be used in rehearsals as an amp by plugging directly into a mixer.

-sounds halfway decent

-is relatively cheap (<$200 if possible)

Am I describing a POD? I'm fairly out of touch with this type of thing.

I've been looking at a few products, but nothing is standing out yet.

Suggestions/info appreciated. Thanks!

digitech RP 350

if you can find a used GNX get that

I have a GNX3000 and it does all of that

I have no experience with the POD
other than a friend had one and I saw it in the floor of his jam room

he liked it
but when he started raving about what all it would do
my mind wandered

Thanks!

I had no clue that the Digitech deal existed. That's exactly what I"m looking for.

I'm a little leery about buying something like this used...thoughts?

Honestsly, for what you are looking for in your price range used is really the only way to go.

When buying used, if at all possible, go to the person that sells and try it out over there. If you like it, buy it, if you don't walk away.

Found an RP-350 used for $100 that I can try out today. I also have a GC coupon I could use for an RP-355...hmm...

Thanks again fellas!

Got a used RP-350 for $77 out the door today. So far is functioning perfectly. I think it will do what I need it to do. I also downloaded Reaper. The RP/Reaper combo is way easier to record with than the Boss Micro BR I have.

I was also happily surprised to learn that the RP-350 is Made in the USA!

Thanks for the suggestion ehdwuld!
