Hello everyone. I am new here. I am wondering if anyone here is after that early EVH tone!? From VH-1 , VH-2. I have a vintage 67' plexi, but I am struggling over which speaker to put in, heritage g12m or g12h? ( I know both together do not work well so I gotta pick one!

I have also been reading that the mid 70 celestion black backs are killer for the later Ed tone ( fair warning).

your thoughts on those with a vintage plexi or a booteek plexi clone please!!!!

thanks

cary

Black back-Greenback, same speaker- check the Celestion site, in ask DR Decibel.
I personally prefer the greenbacks, but thats just me,

You can find Rola (post 1970 or something like that) made Celestions with green, black, cream and grey magnet covers, they're all G12M's and sound the same. You will only find pre-Rola G12M's with green covers though. The sound difference comes from the pre-Rola/Rola difference, not the magnet cover.

You want the Heratige G12M's, they're the closest thing ever made to the original pre-Rola Celestion G12M's, which are what EVH used.
