Hex poles on a Nazgul?

Anybody tried it?

I have a Nazgul in my Strat that is like 97% of the way there. It's EQ'd right for the most part. I would just would like to make the attack more present and maybe thin out the low mids a tad. I don't want it to be night and day. I just want to push it a bit more towards being tight and aggressive.

Will hexes do that? And if so... which hexes should I get? Which are the brightest and most attacky? Any chance I could actually get the ones that Duncan use on the FS or the BBW?

Thanks!

I haven't put hexes in a Nazgul, but every other pickup I've put hexes into made it a different pickup, usually way more scooped than whatever it was before. I haven't noticed different poles changing the attack. IME different coils change the attack and maybe the magnet as well.

Just curious: When you guys talk about "hexes", are you referring to the poles in a Full Shred, or the poles in an Invader? (Or both?)

Yeah. I think the Invader's polepieces can only fit on bobbins that normally fit slugs. They won't fit a screw bobbin.

I'm pretty sure the tonal effect of those is making the pickup darker and fatter.

That's disheartening. I don't think any magnet has a stronger attack than Ceramic, do they?
