Hey Boss GT-6 users...

I just got one a couple days ago, and am loving it.

The only thing is, does it NOT have any type of noise reduction? Most of the models are quiet, but it wouldn't hurt to have something to quiet a few of them down. I know, I know, I should just turn down the gain, or shut off the additional distortion, but what fun would that be?!?!?

Am I gonna have to pick up a Boss NS-2 and put it in the effects loop?

I found that re-setting the global volume on each of the patches made a big difference. You've probably noticed that some are louder than others. You can also cycle through each patch and adjust the level of each effect...this will help sometimes as well.

I guess I haven't looked, but is there really no noise suppressor built in?

***edit, I knew there was. Turn on the patch you want to use, then hit the button that says Name/NS/Master. The NS stands for noise suppressor. Hit the button once, and you can re-name the patch. Hit it again and it takes you to noise suppressor. You turn it on/off using the wheel up top. Then, using the parameter < > buttons you can change the level of suppression, ect. If you hit the button 3 times in a row, it takes you to all of the golbal settings of that patch. You then have to hit write to save your changes.

If you do something that you think is wrong, just turn the unit off, and back on again. As long as you haven't commited to write, it will re-set to where it was before.

I think Jeff nailed the answer for you, though you don't have to turn off the unit to reset a patch to the defaut - you can just change to a different patch - just something to save you a few seconds here and there. I really like mine most of the time, though I do have fights with it sometimes.
