Hey Lew, speaker question...

I've read you on another board recommending a certain model Weber speaker for blackface Fender amps. Was that the P10Q 30 watt model? I'm thinking of recabbing a Deluxe Reverb II (Rivera Fender) into a 2x10 combo and looking at possible speaker choices. The clean channel on this amp is pretty close to a blackface sound.

Thx!

Re: Hey Lew, speaker question...

Morning! I really like some of Ted Weber's 10" speakers.

As far as alnico 10's go, for a blackface style Fender I like the 30 watt Weber P10Q alot. In tweed amps, I like the Weber P10RT better...but I often pair it with a Weber C10Q to improve the low end...even in my '51 tweed Super and my buddies '53 tweed Super.

The Weber C10Q would be my favorite ceramic 10.

I suspect your amp would sound great with a pair of 30 watt Weber P10Q's...the 20 watt version might be to bright.

Thanks! Lew

Thanks Lew! That's what I was looking for :D

This amp is pretty bright to start with. It's got plenty of low end with the stock Fender 12", I don't think I'd knock that too far down using a couple of alnico 10's, but it sure would be nice to tame the top and make the mids and top a little sweeter.

In that case, I'm sure you'd like a pair of the 30 watt P10Q's. I have four...if you're interested in two, send me a PM. They're brand new and unused. Lew
