Hey Rid!

I just picked up one of those little Epiphone Valve Jr. heads and I'm looking for some mojo to put up in front of it. It's a single ended Class A amp w/ 1 12AX7 pre tube and 1 EL84 pwr tube runs at about 5-7 watts. No tone stack, just a single Vol. knob.

I'm looking really hard at the Plexitone and Hot Driven Boost MKII. I know nothing will nail those tones exactly w/out having the real deal. I'm just wanting to get into the ballpark of a plexi and/or MKII tone.



and for those that want to comment on it being silly putting pedals that cost alot more than I paid for the amp in front of it.... I realize it sounds silly, but I'm not in a band and this little amp will suit me just fine. Just trying to maximize my tonal options.

Well I use my 15 watt top with the Plexi at times, and one of our amp and pedal designers small 5 watt head with a G12H speaker...monsterous sound in a small way...sounds huge when recording it, same with the 15 watter.
The HDB is just a mild drive, it will follow the amps sound very closely.
