This is my first post here, Hello everyone.

I got inspired by a MIJ Tele JV Modified 50s, It's got a 4 way switch and a push pull pot. Very cool and useable system.

I've got a Kaish heavy duty 5 way switch, its got pins 1-8 in a straight line and 4 and 5 are bridged.

I have 2 humbuckers, 4 wires (start and end of each coil) and the ground\shield wire.

When I bought the switch I thought I was getting the right thing for getting 5 distinct sounds, but I'm not sure I can make this work how I think.

I am sick of unsoldering from this switch and messing it up so now I'm here trying to get some help. I have come to the conclusion that this switch was made for guitars with 3 pickups. My thinking is that I could treat each coil as a pickup in the neck, and use the bridge in humbucking only. That way I could do something like

1 Neck Humbucker
2 Neck Single
3 Both Buckers
4 Bridge Bucker
5 Bridge Bucker

With this Kaish switch and get by until I can get the exact right components. Any insight on how to wire this?

Does anyone know of a switch that will fit into a tele cavity without too much modification that might be better for my application? Ideally I would like the option to in\out phase.

In a perfect world I would have access to

Neck bucker\single
Neck North\Bridge South in series\paralell
Bridge bucker\single
Both buckers parallel

I've bought stuff off Digikey and Mouser but obviously I'm not an expert. I am also willing to compromise down and simplify but I do enjoy the options.

I'm curious if any more experienced solder sniffers might know highly regarded components that could achieve this level of control?

I have a Kaisch switch, and it's good quality, but you are correct. The 5-way is made for a 3-pup guitar.

You really need a Superswitch to get either of those configurations.
