Hi everyone. So I took everything apart to clean pots and switch and well fml I cannot assemble it back. I tried to follow wiring diagram but originally I have different wires ( small wire inside bigger ) also I had wire soldiered to the back of switch which isn't anywhere on diagram. To be honest all I want is bridge and neck only other are no use for me but that wasn't a problem. Can anyone look at those and tell me what I did wrong ? I already spent 5 hours trying to fix it xd

What does the switch and knobs actually do? Maybe someone has a correct wiring diagram (you will likely have to translate the colors).

So black is hot, green and bare goes to pot, red and white together. its a super switch and right now it does nothing :P cuz something is all wrong

I dont really know what to tell you. it is my first project ever. I know there are 5 positions, and some of them were split coils. But I dont need those whatsoever. I would do with just 2 to be honest

Looks like one Duncan is connected to one side of the switch, but it's red+white wires are soldered but loose and touching the switch. I can't see or identify what wire(s) are the other pickup, but the other side of the switch doesn't appear to have any pickup wired to it, or it's wired to common instead of the selector lugs. I see at least 2-3 wires that aren't connected to anything, which certainly shouldn't be the case. I see one white wire that appears possibly soldered to the outside plates of the switch housing, which normally shouldn't be that way.

What drawring were you following, what pickups do you have, and what exactly are you trying to make the switch positions do?

Hi I was trying to follow this one, and then I got confused due to the fact some of my wires are doubled one inside other one. That was my first attempt to soldering, I went to watch some videos how to do it better heh. Yeah only bridge pickup was connected at that time. Honestly I was trying to reassemble it back to life :P What I need is just bridge + neck but I dont know if i can do that on superswitch so I was going for whatever that diagram shows. I have 2 solar duncan pickups 1 volume 1 tone and some weird wires.

I would do it just like the drawing, so at least all positions do something possibly useful. But if all you need is bridge and neck, just don't connect the red-white wires to the switch, but make sure they are soldered together (for each pickup, separately) and tope them off/cover the connection so it can't touch any metal in the control cavity when you put it back together.

That drawing is missing the jumpers across lug 2-3 for the bridge pickup, however.

For what you want, you don't need the complicated super switch. Why not replace it with a regular Strat switch (either 3 or 5 position) for simplicity. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to completely redo the wiring on the vol pot. Not to be disrespectful, but it's a complete mess. And it looks like some cold solder joints on both pots as well.

In a way, I would first define what you want the controls to do, then go after the wiring. But it would be a good idea to start over..some of that doesn't look so good.
