A have a double humbucker tele that I want to change out the neck pickup to the classic lipstick type tele single coil but keep the humbucker in the bridge.

How can i wire this properly and will i need to change the pots and capacitors?

Thanks!

Ought to work well with what you've got. Singelcoils usually get a 250K pot but a regular Tele neck pickup should be just fine with 500K (assuming that's what you've got, fairy standard for an HH guitar). It's the Tele bridges that sometimes sound icepicky with a 500K volume pot.

Tone caps are very much a matter of personal taste - I'd try what's in there now and see how it does for you. Might work great.
And if it doesn't, you can always change it later.

PS: Tele neck pickups normally have a shiny cover, but they're very different from lipstick tube pickups.

Also consider putting a firebird pickup in the neck.
1) Tone is comparable to a single coil
2) They have more output level than tele neck pickup so it balance better with the humbucker.
3) Avoids single coil hum and noise.
4) Probably workable with the same 500k controls used with humbuckers. So less compatibility issues between 250k and 500k controls.

You could also get a pickguard rounted for a Strat size pickup, so you can use a STK-S4 strat pickup that will have similar benefits to those listed above.

I'd start with just getting the correct pickguard and choosing the pickup you want. If something doesn't sound right, you can start changing other things, but I suspect you won't have to.

But does you HH has Tele has one tone knob or two like the Tele Deluxe which has a Gibson-style wiring ?
I mean if you have two caps you may swap one... But if you have only one maybe not.
There is also caps in-between :
Tone Capacitor .033uF
and 300K pots
